Wedding venues in Prague

Prague has got many options for holding a wedding. It is easy to spend hours researching on line about all the wedding venues that Prague has to offer.

In this article we would like to give a brief overview of wedding venues for wedding ceremony and reception together with approximate costs.

How much will a wedding in Prague cost? The answer to this question will depend on the size of your wedding. If you are coming only together you will need to consider costs associated with the civil ceremony, possibly venue rental and additional services that you may need such as a photographer, hair and makeup, flowers.

There are a few popular venues for a civil wedding ceremony in Prague: Old Town Hall, Vrtba Garden, Mirror Chapel at Klementinum.

The Old Town Hall offers the most affordable prices for a civil wedding ceremony. This place offers the best value considering its historic attraction, location and price. The package price for a civil wedding ceremony at the Old Town Hall is 1050 EUR. Ceremonies are held all year round.

The Old Town Hall is followed very closely by the Vrtba Garden.

The package price for the civil wedding ceremony at the Vrtba Garden is higher due to the garden rental charged by the garden administration.

Another difference from the Old Town Hall is that wedding ceremonies at the garden are possible from April until November.

The package price for a civil wedding ceremony at the Vrtba Garden is 1570 EUR.

How much does a photographer, hair and makeup, flowers cost? The cost of photography ranges from 100 to 300 euros per hour. This will depend a lot on the photographer and the number of hours you order. Hair and makeup will cost 175 euros, with hairdressers and stylists coming to you. A wedding bouquet with a buttonhole will cost between 80 and 150 euros. The price will depend on the bouquet you choose. You can get a package price for all these services for 615 euros. The package includes a 3-hour photo tour with a car, hair, makeup and flowers.

It is not possible to host a reception in any of the establishments, the restaurant must be booked separately. You can have a small cocktail (champagne and canapes) in the Vrtba Garden.

Now let’s take a look at the universal establishments in Prague.

Restaurant Villa Richter

Located next to Prague Castle, surrounded by historic vineyards, this place remains one of the most popular wedding venues. It is possible to conduct both a civil ceremony and a symbolic and buffet table. The restaurant has several options for weddings to varying sizes and budgets. For a small wedding of up to 30 people, you can choose one of the restaurant’s salons: pink, blue, green or yellow. The minimum cost for a wedding dinner in one of the salons ranges from 15,000 to 20,000 kroons. Wedding menus range from CZK 1,200 to CZK 2,500 for a 4-course menu.

Glassroom can host large weddings for up to 50 guests. The minimum consumption is 70,000 CZK.

If you only want the restaurant closed for your wedding, you need to consider renting it out completely. The minimum consumption for the entire restaurant is 310,000 CZK. The party should end at midnight. If you wish to continue the party after midnight, there will be a charge of CZK 15,000 per hour. This is the price of a Friday / Saturday wedding. The minimum consumption for a wedding on a weekday is 260,000 CZK.

Hotel Augustine

The Augustine Hotel is located in Mala Strana. It reflects the history, character and beauty of Prague. Here you can hold a ceremony, reception and accommodate guests.

The hotel has an open area divided into 3 parts: arcades, terraces and a garden of sundials. Each of them can be rented separately. One of the most beautiful parts is the Sundial Garden. The minimum consumption of lunch in the garden is 60,000 CZK. Maximum capacity 60 people.

The arcades can accommodate up to 45 guests, with a minimum consumption of CZK 55,000.

The terrace can accommodate up to 60 guests, the minimum consumption is CZK 100,000.

The wedding ceremony can be held in the sundial garden, on the arches or on the terrace. Rent for the ceremony CZK 20,000.

Street music can be played until 22:00. To continue the party after 10:00 pm, you need to consider moving to the St. Thomas Brewery. The minimum consumption is CZK 55,000.

An example of a wedding for 50 guests accommodated at the Augustine Hotel: wedding ceremony in the Sunny Garden (rent 20,000 CZK), reception on the terrace until 22:00 (minimum consumption 100,000 CZK), late party after 22:00 at brewery St. Thomas (minimum consumption CZK 55,000).

Another combination: wedding ceremony on the terrace (rent 20,000 CZK), reception in the Sunny Garden (minimum consumption 60,000 CZK), late party after 22:00 at the St. Thomas (minimum consumption CZK 55,000).

Lobkowicz Palace

Lobkowicz Palace is the only private building in the Prague Castle complex. The hall can accommodate up to 400 guests. The palace has several rooms where you can hold a wedding ceremony and reception. Several rooms adjoin the rooftop terrace of Prague from where your guests can enjoy the view. The cost of renting the halls in the Palace ranges from 110,000 to 150,000 CZK (the rent will depend on the number of guests and the combination of rooms reserved for the ceremony and reception). The palace had its own food. Prices range from CZK 1,530 for a 4-course menu to CZK 2,160 for a 5-course menu.

Troy Castle

The castle is located 15-20 minutes from the center of Prague. It is surrounded by a beautiful and very well kept garden. The wedding ceremony can take place in the park in front of the castle or inside the castle in the Imperial Hall. The rent of the castle ranges from 150,000 to 250,000 CZK. The price will largely depend on the wedding day plan. You will also need to think about food besides renting a castle. Food prices will range from CZK 1,300 including food and drinks to CZK 3,200.

Streletsky Island restaurant

Located on an island on the Vltava River, in the center of Prague, this place is suitable for a casual wedding with a view of the river and the National Theater. The prices are also very affordable. For example, a 3-course menu will cost CZK 680 and a 3-hour drinks package costs CZK 550. The restaurant also offers half the price of a children’s menu and a set of drinks.

Zofin Palace

Santini Garden Restaurant

A hidden gem located under Prague Castle in Malá Strana. The restaurant is surrounded by a beautiful and cozy garden, where you can hold both a ceremony and a reception. It is the perfect setting for a relaxed summer wedding in the tranquil garden. Despite the location in the historic center, the prices are very affordable. A 4-course menu costs between 780 and 950 CZK.

Grand Hotel Bohemia and Boccaccio Ballroom

The hotel is known for its Boccaccio ballroom in the neo-baroque architectural style. In the early days of the Czechoslovak Republic, the hall served as a luxurious cabaret for the cream of Prague society and entertained such people as Jan Masaryk, the foreign minister, the US ambassador to the Czech Republic and many others.

The minimum expense for a wedding at the Bocaccio Ballroom is CZK 80,000 and can accommodate up to 100 guests. Guests can be accommodated at the hotel.
