Karlstejn Castle is one of the most impressive Gothic castles in the Czech Republic. Located high on a hill, it overlooks the river and picturesque village below.
The castle is named after its founder Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. Founded in 1348 as the summer residence of Charles IV.
